Issues relating to water shortages as a result of erratic power supply and water system breakdown, lack of stand pipes at the new developing areas within the communities, open defecation in some communities were among the key challenges identified. The foundation intervened by drilling two Boreholes with hand pumps for the Resettlement community, and potable water with a standpipe was also extended to some parts of the Hweakwae community that lacked a water supply. As a remedial measure to the water quality issue the Adausena and Hweakwae communities faced, The Newmont Akyem Development Foundation has constructed a high-level water tank to stop the problem.

The Foundation is on course towards the creation of sustainable value.

The Foundation is building sustainable value.

This vision is being realised through the discrete activities undertaken by the Foundation daily, with the support of our stakeholders.
