With over 25 years of international experience across mining, infrastructure, engineering, and public health, he is a results-driven strategist specializing in sustainability, ESG performance, and risk management. Derek has led initiatives that optimize operational efficiency, reduce liabilities, and strengthen stakeholder value.
He holds executive education credentials from London Business School and Harvard Business School, an MSc in Environmental Epidemiology & Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a BA (Hons) in Development Studies & Geography from SOAS, University of London. A Lead Auditor in Social Management Systems, he is also a member of IIRSM and IOSH (UK). Derek is passionate about community development, environmental sustainability, and social investment.
